A convicted killer who stabbed his neighbour to death in his North Lanarkshire garden has died in jail.
Nicholas Henry struck Daniel Greer with a shovel and struck him nine times at a property on Rankin Crescent in Greengairs with a knife in October 2020.
He then dragged the 33-year-old’s body into the victim’s house where his dad found him two days later.
Following a trial in October 2022 at the High Court in Glasgow, Henry was jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum 21 years.
The murderer died while serving his sentence at HMP Low Moss on August 27 aged 49.
As with all deaths in prison, a fatal accident inquiry will take place.
