Adobe StockFirefighters are battling a blaze at a scrapyard in East Ayrshire, with residents urged to keep windows and doors closed.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances to the fire at the yard on Kilmaurs Road in Knockentiber around 4.53pm on Saturday.
There are no reported casualties; however, due to levels of smoke in the area, local residents in both Knockentiber and Kilmaurs are advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “If you live in the nearby area and can also smell smoke, please follow the same advice.
“Members of the public should also avoid the area.”
