One of the suspects was carrying a pillowcase of items and the other was carrying a Harrods bag.

Jewellery and cash worth £5,000 stolen during house break-in on Strathaven Road in Hamilton Police Scotland

A hunt is under way to trace two men believed to be involved in a break in where £5,000 of jewellery and cash was stolen.

The thieves broke into a house on Strathaven Road in Hamilton at around 12.15pm on Friday, January 20 and made off with the items, including cash in both Sterling and Euros and other items amounting to approximately £5,000.

Police are attempting to trace two suspects, one who is described as being around 5st 8in tall, of a slim build and between 20 to 40 years old.

At the time he was wearing a black skip cap, a black body warmer, a long white sleeved jumper/t-shirt, blue denim jeans and black shoes. 

He was carrying a grey pillowcase full of items.

The second man is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, of a medium build, and aged between 35 and 45.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, a black jacket and bottoms and black shoes and was carrying a Harrods bag.

Both men were last seen walking down Strathaven Road in the direction of Low Waters Road.

Police have asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact 101 quoting incident number 2186 of Friday, January 20, 2023.
