Janey Godley says the “queen of her comedy heart,” Elaine C Smith, paid her a visit in the hospice with flowers and gifts.
The comedian posted a picture on X with her fellow comic as she receives end-of-life care following the news that her cancer had spread.
Godley was initially diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021 and shared the “devastating news” in September after cancelling her upcoming autumn tour.
She said her “chemo ran out of options”, and she couldn’t take anymore.
On Wednesday, Godley shared a picture with Smith, who had visited her with flowers and gifts, including a candle.
She said: “Lovely flowers and gifts from the Queen of My comedy heart Elaine C Smith.”
In a video from the hospice earlier this month, Godley thanked everybody as she confirmed she has had some issues with sickness – and said it is “hard” to speak about death, “we all have to have” the conversations.
She said: “I’ve had a few issues with being sick and I’m dealing with that.
“The care here has been absolutely spectacular, as you can imagine.
“Thanks to everybody who is watching my journey and trying to deal with speaking about death and how that makes people feel.
“You got to know it is hard, but these are conversations we all have to have at some point, or not, or not, but I’m sending you all my love.”
