James Forrest believes Celtic’s “character” has led them to winning a league and cup double despite a season of turmoil.

The veteran winger won the Scottish Cup for the eighth time on Saturday after being named in the starting eleven for the final against Dunfermline.

Celtic’s most highly decorated player, who has racked up 28 trophies in his Hoops career, says the strength of the changing room has carried the club to glory this season.

The attacker said: “When you’re at Celtic, there’s always going to be pressure on you. You get judged every game, but I think that’s just how it is at a big club.

“But just for this season, it’s been with four different managers at different times, the character in the changing room, not once have the boys turned against each other.”

After the club’s 43rd Scottish Cup win, the winger added: “I think that’s been the main thing, that we really stuck together.

“Especially the manager and the coaches. They’ve come in in November/December, and they’ve done it again in January to come back and help the boys.

“We’ve come back together, and you see the fans behind us as well. It’s a great feeling.”
