Scottish drinks giant AG Barr has been forced to recall cartons of Rubicon juice drink over undeclared allergens.
The Food Standards Agency said some one-litre cartons of Rubicon Yuzu and Pink Grapefruit could pose a health risk for anyone sensitive to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.
Any drink containing sulphites at concentrations of 10mg/litre or more must explicitly declare them on the label as a recognised allergen.
The Food Standards Agency said the following batches may be impacted:
- Batch Code 6160 – best before July 2027
- Batch Code 6198 – best before July 2027
- Batch Code 6219 – best before August 2027
- Batch Code 6257 – best before September 2027
The notice read: “AG Barr is recalling the above product and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
“Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”
According to AG Barr, no other products have been affected, and any customers who have purchased the product should return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
