Investigations ongoing after bag of 'remains' found near wooded area

Police were called to investigate the discovery in Alexandria on Sunday morning.

Investigations are ongoing after possible remains were found in a bag in West Dunbartonshire.

Police were called to the Arthurson Road area of Alexandria at around 9.45am on Sunday after the discovery was made.

The area was cordoned off while specialist teams assessed the contents of the bag.

Officers have now been stood down from the scene.

The find comes after human remains were discovered on Rubha Dubh, near Firkin Point, on September 13.

The remains were later identified as belonging to Graham Wright, who was allegedly killed at a flat in Glasgow’s Castlemilk.

Police Scotland has confirmed that Sunday’s discovery is not being treated as linked to Mr Wright’s death.

Linda Kelly, 57, has since appeared in court accused of murdering and dismembering Mr Wright.

Another suspect, David McColl, 50, has also been charged with murder, and John Roarty, 54, has been accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice in connection with the killing.
