An investigation is under way after a woman was sexually assaulted on a street near a town garden in Prestwick.
The 21-year-old was targeted in the town’s Main Street, near to Boydfield Gardens, at around 1.30am on Sunday.
Officers have launched a search for a white man, around 30 to 40 years of age with short, dark hair with a local accent.
He ran off into Boydfield Gardens, onto Station Road, before running into Midton Road, and was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket, light blue jeans and dark-coloured footwear.
Detective constable Graham Cuthill said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident to get in touch. If anyone saw or noticed anything suspicious, or has any information on the suspect, please do get in touch with us.
“In particular, anyone with a dash-cam is asked to check the footage as it may have captured images which could assist the investigation.”
