A silver Volkswagen Sharan, a black Kia Sportage and a white Renault van were set on fire in Clydebank on Sunday night.

Three vehicles have been damaged after being “deliberately” set on fire in West Dunbartonshire.

Officers received reports of a silver Volkswagen Sharan and a black Kia Sportage being set ablaze on Glasgow Road at around 9pm on Sunday.

At around 10.25pm on the same evening, a white Renault van was set on fire on John Knox Street.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The fires are being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish whether they are linked.

Detective Constable Jemma Green said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone driving in the areas at the time who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3529 of 18 August for Glasgow Road, and 3888 of 18 August for John Knox Road.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
