An inquiry has been launched following the death of an inmate at a Scots prison on Christmas Eve.
Robert Campbell, 49, died at HMP Low Moss in East Dunbartonshire on Saturday.
The Scottish Prison Service confirmed a probe will be launched into the death of the 49-year-old.
Police Scotland has been advised and the incident has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
A statement from the Scottish Prison Service read: “Robert Campbell, 49, a prisoner at HMP Low Moss has died on December 24, 2022.
“He was sentenced at Falkirk Sheriff Court in 2021.
“Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
“A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.”
