A probe has been launched after a masked group into an ATM in Dumfries and Galloway during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The incident happened around 12.30am when several people, carrying heavy tools, targeted the machine in a store car park near Lockerbie Road in Dumfries.
The suspects were wearing black clothing with facemasks and they made off in a dark-coloured hatchback car that travelled onto the A709 towards Torthorwald.
Detective Constable Jim Kirkpatrick said: “This appears to have been a well-planned theft and enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved.
“We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area before or after the theft to get in touch. Please also check any private CCTV footage you have to see if anything has been captured to assist with our investigation.”
