Investigation launched after car torched during early hours

An investigation has been launched after a car was torched in West Dunbartonshire on Sunday.

A white Volkswagen Golf was deliberately set alight on Braehead in the Bonhill area of Alexandria between 4.45am and 5.10am.

There were no reported injuries and bo arrests have been made.

An investigation is ongoing.

Detective constable Darren Boag said: “Enquiries into the fire are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.

“We’d also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”

Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0806 of Sunday, July 26, 2026.
