iStockAn investigation has been launched after a car fire in Glasgow during the early hours.
Emergency services were called to the Broomfield Road area in the Springburn area of the city at around 4.40am on Friday.
Flames had taken hold of a car and damaged a second vehicle.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine to extinguish the blaze. There were no reported injuries, and fire crews left the area after an hour.
Detectives are investigating to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.40am on Friday, July 24, 2026, we received a report of a car on fire on Broomfield Road, Glasgow.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries. A second car was damaged as a result.
“Enquires are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
