Police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by two men.

The incident took place in Lochwinnoch on Friday, October 22 at around 8.45pm.

He had been walking with a friend along the cycle path near to Castle Semple, on Lochlip Road, when the two men approached them.

The 18-year-old was then physically assaulted before having his phone stolen.

He did not require medical treatment and his phone was recovered by officers later.

Police are now appealing for information following the incident.

The first man is described as being around 6ft in height, of slim build, and was wearing dark clothing with his hood up.

The second man is described as being around 5ft 8in in height, with stubble and was wearing dark clothing with the hood up.

Both spoke with a Glasgow accent.

Detective Constable Gary Bruce said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen something that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch.”
