Investigation after 'dozens' of fans have phones stolen at OVO Hydro gig

A number of music fans reported having their phones stolen as metal band Bad Omens played the Hydro on Sunday evening.

Police are investigating after dozens of concertgoers reported having their phones stolen at a gig in Glasgow.

A number of concertgoers took to social media to complain that their mobiles had been taken, as heavy metal band Bad Omens played the OVO Hydro on Sunday evening.

The band, from Richmond, Virginia and formed in 2015, has risen to prominence in the metal scene in recent years.

The SEC, the venue’s owner, confirmed it had received a number of reports of missing phones at the concert, and that an investigation is under way.

Police Scotland also confirmed enquiries are ongoing after receiving a number of reports of theft.

An SEC spokesperson said: The SEC has a robust security operation in place for all events.

“We did receive a number of reports of missing phones at the Bad Omens event and are investigating this further.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We have received a number of reports of phones being stolen at an event at the Ovo Hydro on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
