An investigation has been launched after a “deliberate” fire was set at a primary school in Renfrewshire.
Emergency services were called around 8pm on Saturday to a fire at a school on Old Greenock Road in Bishopton.
It is understood that the fire took place at Bishopton Primary School.

Two appliances were sent to the scene after being alerted by an automatic alarm activation and reports of smoke coming from the school.

Police say the fire is being treated as wilful.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone with any information or who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”
