An Inverurie headteacher’s dream of meeting singer Mika came true thanks to the children in her school.
Pupils in primary 1 and 2 classes at Monymusk Primary in Inverurie made Jill Moir’s year after writing secret letters to the pop star.
Her class helped the headteacher fulfil her dream of getting a selfie with Mika, as she ended up on stage with him in Glasgow on Thursday evening.
Mrs Moir said she had “no idea” Mika would read the letter on stage before inviting her up to join him.
STV NewsShe told STV News: “The kids were doing a ‘what we wish for 2026’. I’ve loved Mika for so many years.
“I told them I was going to see him in Glasgow, so all I want is a selfie.
“And that was it. So we made little snowflakes, and they’re all stuck up in the classroom window.
“Honestly, I’m never going to wash my left hand again.
“I’m gobsmacked, absolutely gobsmacked, but to think that they’ve all done that and not one of them, not one of them said a word.
“But, oh my god, what a surprise.”
