A multi-agency rescue was dispatched to the Southern Uplands after a woman slipped near the summit of Tinto Hill.
Police called in Moffat Mountain Rescue teams after reports of a casualty was received around 11.39am on Saturday, March 9.
A total of 11 members responded to the call out as well as seven members of the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and a Special Operations Response Team by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
A helicopter was also dispatched to the scene by HM Coastguard Rescue but due to high winds the woman couldn’t be safely winched.
The decision was made instead to transport her in a specialist mountain vehicle to an area of the hill where the helicopter could land.
The casualty was then flown down to a nearby car park where she was taken by ambulance to hospital, Moffat Mountain Rescue said.
Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
