Police are becoming “increasingly concerned” for the welfare of a man missing from Johnstone.

Robert Drysdale, 58, was last seen in the area of Glenpatrick Road in Elderslie at around 12pm on Friday, March 8.

Police said he left in a maroon coloured Toyota RAV 4 with a registration number VO68 UEG.

He is described as white, 6ft1 in height with grey hair which is thinning on top.

The man was last seen wearing a grey puffer jacket with burgundy piping, dark trousers, dark shoes with a white sole and carrying a medium sized black rucksack.

Officers said it is possible he took a drive up the west coast so are “keeping an open mind” about how far he may have travelled.

Sergeant Martin McKirdy said: “We are asking members of the public to keep a look out for Robert as we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“It is possible that he has taken a drive up the west coast and therefore we are keeping an open mind about how far he could have travelled.

“Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries and searching areas he would normally frequent to check he is safe and well but would ask anyone who has seen him or his vehicle to get in touch with us.

“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1611 of Tuesday, March 12 2024.”
