A man is in a critical condition in hospital after a collision involving an e‑bike that also left two pedestrians hurt in Renfrew.

Emergency services were called to Inchinnan Road at around 2.25pm on Tuesday, April 7, following reports of a crash involving an e‑bike and pedestrians.

The male rider was taken to hospital, where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

Two women, both aged 69, were taken to hospital for treatment.Police later described the e‑bike as illegal.

In a statement, Police Scotland said: “Around 2.25pm on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, police received a report of a crash involving an illegal e‑bike and pedestrians on Inchinnan Road, Renfrew.

“Emergency services attended and the male rider of the e‑bike was taken to hospital, where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

“Two female pedestrians, aged 69, were also injured and taken to hospital.

Police say enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
