Ian Murray has been sacked as Greenock Morton manager, the club have confirmed.
The club currently sit bottom of the Scottish Championship with just one point from eight games.
The 45-year-old was appointed to the role in January and has been relieved of his duties less than ten months later.
Michael O’Halloran and Gary Miller will take charge of first-team duties.
A statement on the club’s official website said: “The Board of Greenock Morton Football Club can confirm that Ian Murray has been relieved of his duties as First Team Manager with immediate effect.
“First Team Coach Bill Orr has also been relieved of his duties.
“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both Ian and Bill for their hard work, commitment and professionalism during their time at the club. Everyone at Morton wishes them both the very best for the future.
“Taking charge of first-team affairs until further notice will be Michael O’Halloran and Gary Miller.
“The club recognises the disappointment felt by supporters and understands the importance of the weeks ahead.
“Now more than ever, the players, Michael and Gary, need the backing of the Morton support as we work together to move the club forward.
“We therefore urge all supporters to get behind the team and join us at Cappielow this Saturday for our match against Raith Rovers.
“Your support can make a real difference, and we look forward to seeing a strong home crowd cheering the team on.”
