A boy from Glasgow, Team GB’s only mini mascot from Scotland, got the chance to meet Olympic heroes such as Tom Daley.
Josh Davidson was selected to be one of only six mini mascots at the games in Paris this summer after 20,000 video entries were sent in by parents and guardians across the UK.
The nine-year-old, who practices taekwondo, attended fan zone events and watched the closing ceremony before being invited to welcome Team GB home in London.
Josh got to meet some of the Olympians who inspired him as they alighted from the Eurostar at the weekend, including silver medal winner in taekwondo Caden Cunningham.
The excited mascots also got t-shirts signed and autographs handed out on the platform at St Pancras station.
He told STV News: “One of the best parts was meeting Tom Daley and Caden Cunningham and going to the fan zones.
“We were sitting in the VIP area and we got to play table tennis and watch the closing ceremony.”
He added: “I’m excited (to get back into taekwondo). I’m going to watch it tonight.”
His mum Angela said: “The kids got to meet the athletes before the games, attending the kitting out ceremony when the athletes picked up their Olympic gear.
“We got all the details sorted for going down to London and met the team coming off the Eurostar and got to say congratulations to them all.
“Josh is glued to the TV at the moment and is very invested in all the results being inspired by the athletes after Team GB did so well.
“He met Caden Cunningham who won the silver in taekwondo and that was one of his favourite parts.”
