A hunt has been launched for two suspects after a man was taken to hospital following an assault in Inverclyde.
Officers were called to Montgomerie Street in Port Glasgow at around 4.35pm on Saturday.
A 56-year-old man reported he had been attacked and robbed of his wallet and jewellery at 2pm.
The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and released after treatment.
Police are looking to trace two suspects described as white, aged between 20 – 30 years old and of slim build.

The force is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
Detective constable Agnieszka Telford said: “Our investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and trace the two men responsible.
“If you were in the Montgomerie Street area on Saturday afternoon and witnessed anything suspicious or relevant to this enquiry, please contact us.
“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 2473 of November 23. Alternatively, contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
