Hunt for suspects after man attacked 'with weapons' while in car

Police are hunting for two suspects after a man was attacked with weapons while in his vehicle in Glasgow.

Officers say around 9.30pm on Friday, a 53-year-old man was in his vehicle on Glenisla Street in the Tollcross area when he was approached by two men who assaulted him with weapons.

The suspects, described as two white males in their 20s, made off from the scene in a white vehicle.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Detective Constable Martin Howie said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“If you were in the area on Friday evening and witnessed a disturbance, or noticed anything at all suspicious, please get in touch.

“We would also urge anyone with dashcam or private CCTV footage to check in case it has captured anything which could be of significance.”
