Hunt for suspect after staff threatened with bladed weapon during robbery

Police are appealing for information after staff were threatened with weapons during a robbery in East Kilbride.

The incident happened at around 12.35pm on Monday August 17 at a premises on Alloway Road.

Staff were threatened with a bladed weapon and a quantity of alcohol and scratch cards were taken.

There were no reported injuries.

The male suspect is described as wearing a black and blue jacket, a grey tracksuit top, and had a white shirt over his head.

Detective constable Alex Murray said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the robbery to contact us.

“We’d also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
