Police are hunting a man after reports he tried to get two teenage girls into his car.

The reported incident occurred between 12.30am and 12.50am on Friday, June 28 at the bus stop near Darleith Road in the village of Cardross in Argyll and Bute.

Officers say the girls, in their late teens, were left in a state of fear and alarm as a result of the incident.

According to the Glasgow Times, the suspect is described as being aged between 40 and 50 years old, medium build, about 5 foot 10 inches tall, with short dark hair and a tanned complexion.

Police said he was believed to be driving a red car.

Anyone with information, or who was passing in the area at the time and might have dash-cam footage, is asked to contact Helensburgh police office by calling 101.

Information can also be passed to police in confidence by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
