A hunt has been launched for two masked men who fled the scene of an attempted theft in West Dunbartonshire.
Two men were seen in the garden of a property in the Upper Bridge Street area of Alexandria between 3pm and 3.30pm on Thursday.
Both men were wearing dark clothing. When disturbed, they entered a parked grey BMW 3 Series car to flee the scene.
A member of the public approached the suspect’s car and was threatened before the BMW collided with their vehicle, and they fled the scene.
Officers said the BMW has since been driven erratically through the local area, particularly on Main Street and Queen Street.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
Detective constable Iain McGill said: “I would ask anyone who may have seen this car in the Alexandria area, potentially driving erratically between Renton and Balloch on May 29, or with damage, to report this to us.
“Similarly, I would ask anyone with dashcam systems to check their footage and provide anything of relevance to us as soon as possible.
“Those with information should contact Police Scotland via 101 and quote incident number 2218 of May 29 2025. Information can be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
