Police are hunting for a man who swung an ice axe at a woman walking her dog while hiking in Callander.
The incident took place about 9.30am on Saturday, January 3, around halfway up the hill path of Ben Ledi.
The woman, who was walking with a friend and her dog, was involved in an altercation with the male who poured water over her dog.
He then made threatening remarks before brandishing an ice axe and swinging it in her direction.
The male then assaulted the victim by striking her over the head with a bag containing plastic tubs.
The suspect is described as a white male, around 5’10”, age 50s, medium build, brown hair under a black hat, wearing black hiking gear with a green bag.
A Police Scotland statement read: “If anyone has any information about this incident, they are encouraged to report this to police by calling 101 and quoting incident 1771 of January 3 2025.”
