Following enquiries, officers are keen to trace a man who was seen in the area at the time.

A man is in hospital after a serious assault in Renfrewshire on Friday night.

At around 8.20pm on August 11, police were called to reports of an injured man in the Ard Road area of Renfrew.

The 35-year-old was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Following enquiries, officers are keen to trace another man who was seen in the area at the time. 

The man is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, around 6ft tall and either bald or has light blonde hair. 

At the time, he was wearing a navy and grey tracksuit top.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, and those with dash cam or private CCTV footage of the area at the time, to come forward.
