Police are searching for a man on crutches in connection with a machete attack inside a pub in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to reports of an injured man at the pub on Springburn Way at around 11pm on Friday.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers are now searching for a suspect described as a white male, aged between 30 and 40.

During the incident, he was wearing glasses, light blue jeans, a light-coloured top, and a grey knitted hat.

The suspect also used crutches but when he left the pub and made his way towards the Hillkirk Street area he did not use them.

He also had a hard hat but left it behind following the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the pub, understood to be the Bells Bar, to come forward.

Detective sergeant David Cameron said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident and details of the man responsible.

“I would urge anyone who was in the licence premises around 11pm last Friday and who witnessed anything to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with dashcam from outside the pub or who has personal footage to please review it and get it touch if it holds anything relevant.”

Information can be passed to officers through 101, quoting incident number 4197 of September 27, 2025. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
