Police are hunting for a convict who escaped prison and has been on the run for nearly three days.
Martin Jackson was reported missing to police at around 6.30pm on Wednesday after absconding from HMP Castle Huntly – Scotland’s only open prison – near Dundee.
The public is warned not to approach the 33-year-old who is believed to have connections in Ayr and Cumbria.
Jackson is described as being white, of medium build and around 5ft 10ins tall. He is bald with red facial hair.
He was last known to be wearing a grey top and bottoms with a dark jacket.
He may have a grey backpack, white plastic bag and black baseball cap in his possession.
Police are urging anyone who sees Jackson or has information on his whereabouts to contact them on 101 quoting reference 3722 of August 28.
