Police are searching for a driver who crashed into a parked car and failed to stop in Rutherglen.

The black Land Rover Discovery was seen driving erratically before colliding with a stationary vehicle on Kingsacre Road at around 3.15pm on Tuesday.

The vehicle, thought to have had a 2008 or 2009 plate, left before police arrived, travelling towards Mill Street.

It was later seen on the Cathkin Bypass towards East Kilbride, with the rear windscreen believed to have been smashed.

Police say no injuries were reported, with investigations ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Detective Constable Lucy Anderson said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicle after, to come forward with information.

“This incident happened in daylight, and we believe there are people who were in the area at the time who may have information that can assist.

“I would also appeal to those with dash-cam footage to review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2003 of Tuesday, 3 November, 2026.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
