Police are investigating after a car was deliberately set alight outside a home in North Lanarkshire.

At around 12.15am on Tuesday, a red Volkswagen Tiguan was set on fire outside a property on Hamill Drive in Kilsyth. Police are treating the incident as wilful fire raising.

Detective constable Lyndsay McKinnon, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “I am asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone who was driving in the Hamill Drive area around the time of the incident and may have dash-cam footage that would help with our investigation is asked to call us.”

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0092 of May 25, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
