An HSBC branch in Glasgow has been sealed off by officers after red paint was thrown at the bank building.
Police were alerted to the incident at the Argyle Street branch around 4am on Friday morning.
Officers sealed off the area, and the bank has been closed as a result of the vandalism.
HSBC issued an apology to customers and said the bank hopes to reopen “as quickly as possible”.
A HSBC UK spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident at our branch on Argyle Street and the branch is currently closed while the police investigate the matter.
“Our aim is to get back open and running as quickly as possible. We apologise to any customers who may have wished to visit the branch this morning.”
Police said enquiries were ongoing into the incident.
