Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was deliberately torched in North Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to Victoria Road in Harthill at around 10.30pm on Tuesday following reports of a blaze which had taken hold of a white Honda Civic.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the flames and no one was injured during the incident.
Investigators are treating the blaze as wilful and are looking to trace a silver Ford Fiesta spotted in the area around the time, which was last seen heading towards West Main Street.
Detective Constable Alison Geal said: “The fire is being treated as wilful and our enquiries are ongoing.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the fire or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact us.”
Those with information are urged to contact police via 101 quoting reference 3806 of October 15, 2024.
