Homes have been evacuated as firefighters are tackling a blaze at a former school in East Dunbartonshire.
Emergency services were called to a fire at the old Campsie View School building on Boghead Road in Lenzie after 10.50pm on Friday.
Five appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service tackled the blaze through the night, with crews remaining on scene on Saturday morning.
Properties were evacuated and residents in the nearby areas are being asked to keep their windows and doors closed.


Police said on Saturday afternoon that a number of those who were evacuated have been allowed to return to their homes.
Enquiries into the full circumstances of the fire are ongoing, officers said.
East Dunbartonshire Council confirmed Spruce Drive, Heather Drive, Heather Place and Boghead Road are likely to remain closed all weekend.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Emergency services continue to respond to a fire at a disused building on Boghead Road, Lenzie, which was reported around 10.50pm on Friday, August 22, 2025.
“There are no reported injuries.
“Road closure remains in place on Boghead Road between junctions at Heather Drive and Glenwood Road.
“A number of residents who were evacuated from nearby properties overnight have been allowed to return to their homes.
“Advice remains to keep windows and doors closed at this time. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance at a fire involving a derelict building in Kirkintilloch.
“Five fire appliances have been mobilised to Boghead Road, where crews are working to extinguish a large fire.
“If you live nearby, please keep windows and doors closed.”
East Dunbartonshire Council said on social media: “Due to a fire at the old Campsie View School building on Boghead Road, Kirkintilloch, the following roads have been closed to traffic – Spruce Drive, Heather Drive, Heather Place and Boghead Road.
“It is anticipated that the roads will remain closed over the weekend. Please follow the diversion signs that are in place.”
