Walkers preparing to visit the Conic Hill area this week are being urged to plan ahead due to scheduled maintenance work.
The eastern path of the popular walking route will be undergoing work on Thursday and Friday, forcing the temporary closure of a section of the path.
From January 15, a short section of the West Highland Way on the eastern side of Conic Hill will be out of bounds
The main Conic Hill route from Balmaha will remain open throughout.
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park FacebookThe work will be carried out by local contractors, with support from a specialist helicopter team to deliver materials efficiently while helping to minimise disruption and protect the landscape.
To allow the work to take place safely, a 1.4km section of path (from the Garadhban exit gate to the Burn of Mar, up to the junction with the summit path) will be temporarily closed.
Signage will be in place on the ground to help walkers.
WHW walkers and cyclists can follow the signed diversion via Milton of Buchanan, continuing to Balmaha along the B837, before re-joining the West Highland Way.
The path will reopen on Saturday, January 17.
