Hillwalker with 'broken shoulder' rescued from Munro after fall

The volunteer team thanked members of the public who stopped to assist the injured hillwalker.

A hillwalker with a suspected broken shoulder was rescued after falling on Ben Lomond.

The Lomond Mountain Rescue Team was called to help a walker who fell while descending the Munro on Saturday at around 3pm.

The crew met the casualty and assessed their condition before continuing on foot to meet waiting mountain rescue vehicles.

The volunteer team thanked members of the public who stopped to assist the injured hillwalker prior to their arrival.

The Lomond Mountain Rescue Team was called to help a hillwalker who fell while descending Ben Lomond on Saturday.

“[On Saturday] at 2.51pm, Lomond MRT were called to a walker who had a suspected broken shoulder following a fall whilst descending Ben Lomond,” the team said.

“The casualty was met by team members and assessed before being able to continue on foot to waiting team vehicles.

“Many thanks to the members of the public to stopped to assist prior to the team arriving.”

Ben Lomond is one of the most popular Munros for hillwalkers.

According to See Loch Lomond, the 7.5-mile route sees around 50,000 people climb the mountain each year.
