Robert Burns’ former home in East Ayrshire has been put up for rent ahead of Burns Night.
East Mossgiel Farmhouse in Mauchline, where Burns composed many of his best-known works, including ‘Address to a Haggis’, ‘To a Mouse’, and ‘Auld Lang Syne’, is available for let.
The Bard lived in the cottage between 1784 and 1788 when he met Jean Armour, whom he married in 1788.
The quirky rental notice comes ahead of Burns Night celebrations, which honour the famous poet, on Sunday, January 25.

GalbraithGalbraith, the property consultancy, said the cottage has been modernised internally, but the exterior of the farmhouse remains much as it would have been in the 18th century.
The accommodation includes a kitchen, utility room, living room, WC, shower room, and an additional sitting room which could be used as a bedroom on the ground floor.
On the first floor are two double bedrooms, a box room, and a family bathroom. There is an additional bedroom in the attic.
Samantha Outten of property consultancy Galbraith said: “This is an extraordinary opportunity to live in a farmhouse with such a close association to Scotland’s national poet.
“The fact that Robert Burns wrote many of his best-known works – and indeed met Jean Armour – while living here, makes this a really inspirational and fascinating property.
“The farmhouse itself has been upgraded to a very high standard and provides comfortable family accommodation in a wonderful, peaceful setting just outside the village of Mauchline.
“It feels very much in keeping with the period. You could sit in the garden and look out over the same views that Burns would have enjoyed in his time.”
The property is available to let through Galbraith at £1,600 pcm.
