‘Growing concerns’ for missing teenager not seen in five days Police Scotland

Police are “growing concerned” for the welfare of a 19-year-old from North Ayrshire who disappeared five days ago.

Jamie Cannon was last seen on Kinnier Road in Saltcoats at around 10am on Thursday and was reported missing on Saturday.

The teenager’s disappearance has been described as “completely out of character” for him.

He is described as being 6’1 in height and when last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket and carrying a camouflage backpack.

Chief superintendent Faroque Hussain, Ayrshire’s head of police, said: “We are growing concerned for the welfare of Jamie as this is completely out of character for him. His family and friends and extremely worried about him.”

Anyone who may have seen Jamie or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 1623 of May 22, 2021.

Police inspector Colin Shearer of Irvine police station said: “We are growing concerned for the welfare of Jamie as this is completely out of character for him.

“His family and friends are extremely worried about him. Jamie, if you are reading this appeal, I would ask you to make contact with the police or your family or friends to let them know you are safe and well.”
