Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in Greenock.
Officers have cordoned off a large area near the Murdieston Dam after the body was found at around 7.25am on Thursday morning.
An initial probe is under way but officers said enquiries are at an early stage.
It is unclear whether there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.25am on Thursday, November 2, police were called to the Murdieston Dam following the discovery of a body.
“Officers are in attendance and enquiries are continuing.”
