A bus depot fire in Greenock, which took hold on Friday, is being treated as deliberate by detectives.

Emergency services were called to Lynedoch Street following reports of a blaze at the premises at around 4.35pm

The Scottish Fire and Rescue sent two fire appliances to the scene. Crews left the area after extinguishing the flames at around 6.55pm

There were no reported injuries following the incident. Detectives are treating the incident as wilful.

Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, we were made aware of a fire at a bus depot on Lynedoch Street, Greenock.

“Emergency services attended and there were no reports of any injuries.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2554 of December 12, 2025.”
