Two Glasgow subway stations have closed early today due to “operational issues”.

The subway operator added that the nearest station is Shields Road.

Hours later, SPT announced that a second Glasgow subway station would also close early due to “operational issues”.

At 3.06pm a tweet advised that the Kinning Park Station would be closed for the remainder of the day, and that the nearest station is Cessnock.

The tweet read: “Apologies all, Kinning Park Station is now closed for the remainder of the day due to operational issues. We apologise for the inconvenience. Nearest station is Cessnock.”

SPT has been contacted for comment.
