The Kingston Bridge is to be closed for around 45 minutes on Sunday to carry out urgent repairs.
Traffic Scotland and Police Scotland have both urged people to avoid the area if possible.
Traffic is to be diverted off at Bothwell Street, Traffic Scotland said.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall has caused travel disruption across parts of Scotland.
Torrential rain forced some railway lines to close, whilst flooded streets led to a car being abandoned having been submerged in water.
The downpours are set to continue across Scotland, with a yellow warning in place from the Met Office until midnight on Sunday.
