A mural inspired by the botched Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow has appeared in the city centre.
Artist Ejek shared the new art on social media which has been painted near the Virgin Hotel on the city’s Clydeside.
The designer admitted he “couldn’t resist” creating the artwork which was inspired by the failed House of Illuminati event that took place at Box Hub in Whiteinch last month.
The mural features depictions of ‘The Unknown’ and an Oompa Loompa who went viral across social media for their performances at the event.
Parents were left frustrated and branded the event a “farce” with some attendees going as far as to call the police after the event was cancelled hours into it’s opening on February 24.
Footage from the disaster went viral across the world with a documentary set to air on Channel 5 on Saturday, March 16.
Kirsty Paterson, who was one of the Oompa Loompa actresses, told STV News: “The past week has been life-changing, transformative.
“I’m just a normal girl from Glasgow and I woke up one day and my life’s completely changed.
“It’s been overwhelming but I’m loving it, I’m just embracing it – this is completely me.
Jenny Fogarty, 25, who also became a viral sensation, said: “It’s just become this massive thing and it’s nice to see that it’s brought so many people so much joy.
“I think we’re just having fun with it now at this stage, it’s just turned into something so silly.
“There are some interesting things coming – watch this space.”
