Two men taken to hospital after being attacked in street

The pair, aged 27 and 16, were seriously injured in an unprovoked attack by three men on Saturday night.

Two men have been taken to hospital after being attacked by three men in a Glasgow street.

The pair, aged 27 and 16, had come out from a premises on Duke Street, near to Haghill Road, after hearing a disturbance outside about 10.30pm.

When in the street, they were assaulted by three men.

Police were called to the scene at around 10.55pm after receiving reports of the incident.

Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries where the 27-year-old man remains for treatment.

Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

The 16-year-old youth has since been discharged.

At this time, there are no description of the men responsible.

Detective Constable Jo Galea, Shettleston CID, said: “The motive of this attack has yet to be established.

“Officers have spoken to some of the people who came to the aid of the two men after the attack, however, we are still keen to hear from anyone who has not yet come forward, who was in the area at the time and saw the attack or has any information that may assist officers with their investigation.

“Duke Street is a busy area especially with motor vehicles, so we’d also be keen to view any dash-cam footage from the street, between 10.20 and 10.55pm.”
