Roads in Glasgow have been closed due to a fire at a recycling centre in the city’s east end.

Emergency services were called to London Road, which is closed from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road, due to a fire at a premises around 8pm on Wednesday.

Residents are being advised to keep their windows closed, and drivers urged to avoid the area.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent six appliances, a high-reach appliance and several specialist resources after being called around 7.20pm.

There are no reported casualties, and crews remain on the scene.

Images showed what appeared to be debris on fire at the recycling centre.

A Police Scotland statement read: “London Road, Glasgow is closed from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road due to a fire at a premises which was reported around 8pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

“Emergency services are in attendance.

“Residents are advised to keep their windows closed.

“Road users should avoid the area if possible.”
