Train services in Glasgow are facing disruption after a person was struck by a train.

Emergency services were called to the line between Port Glasgow and Wemyss Bay railway station at around 6pm on Tuesday.

A person, who has not yet been identified, was struck by a train. Their current condition is unknown.

Following the incident, services will not be running on the line as it is currently blocked.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Port Glasgow and Wemyss Bay. This means we can’t run trains as the line is currently blocked.

“We’re working closely with the emergency services to get the line reopened, but we’ve no estimate for this at present.”
