A weekend park run in Glasgow has been cancelled after a 13-year-old was “seriously assaulted”.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Road on Friday evening, after a 13-year-old boy was serious assaulted. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

Queen’s Parkrun shared an update on social media on Saturday morning, confirming the run had been cancelled following the incident.

The post read: “Alert. Cancelled due to police incident. Please, do not come to the park.”

It comes after Police Scotland closed Victoria Road in both directions between Albert Road and Queens Drive on Friday evening.
