Police uncover cocaine haul worth £540,000 after stopping car

A 34-year-old man is due to appear in court over the seizure after officers stopped a vehicle in Glasgow.

A haul of class A drugs worth more than £500,000 have been seized from a car in Glasgow.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Wallacewell Road in the city’s Balornock area at around 2pm on Tuesday March 1.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and around 9kg of cocaine with an estimated value of £540,000 was recovered, according to Police Scotland.

Around £120,000 in cash was also seized as part of the operation.

The man has been charged in connection with the drugs recovery and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, March 2.
